Elaine Hall – Founder and Director of the award-winning Miracle Project has been using music, theatre and dance to help individuals on the autism spectrum, to expand their potentials.
Elaine has also authored the book “The Seven Keys to Unlock Autism”.
Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has teamed up with the author for a lecture on December 12, Monday from 7 to 8.30 p.m. The free lecture is scheduled to take place at 100 South St.
The main agenda of the lecture will be to discuss how the project use musical theatre as a mode to help children in assisting them with their communication skills.
Better communication skills aids in building self-esteem and social skills, necessary to navigate through our society.
Hall plans the program implementation at MPAC.
2.5 percent of the children are diagnosed with ASD and are based in New Jersey. This amounts to a higher than the national average of 1.5%.
To address these issues the teams have joined and have been successful in coming up with a new curriculum designed to address the needs of children who are on the spectrum and also to address their other special needs.
Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has plans to offer a unique program, viz The Miracle Project, which is being implemented on a large scale for the first time in New Jersey.
The program, being one of its kind makes use of dance, theatre and music to unlock the potentialities of children on the ASD spectrum and also identify their other neurotypical peers.
