Camel’s milk is being touted as the next big thing in the quest to treat autism symptoms. This is because the milk from a camel is said to be rich in antioxidants; it also offers a solution for those who are allergic to cow’s milk.
Autistic individuals commonly suffer from gastrointestinal disturbances due to the abnormalities present in the gut regions.
However, if concentrated efforts are made to heal the gut, research has shown that physiological, as well as behavioral symptoms and complications can improve, sometimes to a remarkable degree.
Camel milk can treat the gastrointestinal disturbances with its rich supply of antioxidants. Research also points out that camel milk is a readily available natural resource.
All of these observations point toward a bright future for autistic individuals. They also stress the importance of natural remedial treatment for individuals diagnosed with autism.

Earlier research has already discussed the many benefits that the consumption of camel’s milk can provide for autistic individuals.
A notable case study involves a 4-year-old girl
The girl had been diagnosed with fits of rage and had also been a picky eater. She suffered from being unable to make any eye contact or take interest in talking with others.
However, drastic improvements were noticed after the girl had been given camel’s milk continuously for a period of 40 days.
Another case study involves a 15-year-old boy
The boy suffered from serious symptoms of autism traits and was also subjected to camel’s milk for a period of more than 30 days. Noticeable improvements in communication and cognitive skills were observed.
What effect does the milk from a camel have on an autistic individual’s body?
The milk has a plethora of antioxidants that enable it to combat oxidative stress, normally seen in large amounts within autistic individuals.
An animal model study was conducted in which the increase of superoxide dismutase, glutathione, was observed after just a few days of consumption.
These findings highlight the important role that the milk could play in decreasing the stress levels of an individual and in providing general improvements in well-being.
Further, the antibacterial and low cholesterol properties of the milk have revealed many benefits on human health, such as improvement in absorption, digestion, immunity and growth.
This has resulted in the scientific community being exposed to stronger evidence for a promise of being better able to treat and cure autism patients.

I am Ash and I celebrate Neurodiversity! Growing up with an elder brother with severe Autism was tough – but it has also taught me essential life lessons. I don’t believe that people with Autism are necessarily or have any disorder (except in extreme cases). They are just different! And that is something to be proud of! I am passionate about helping other families who may have Autism conditions in their family. So please reach out and drop me a note. I will be glad to help 🙂
